About the Scheme
The Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme is a credit-linked subsidy scheme for setting up new micro enterprises. The bank finances the project and a portion of the cost is given as a margin money subsidy, at a higher rate for rural areas and for applicants from special categories including SC, ST, women, minorities, ex-servicemen and persons with disabilities. 🚀 How to Apply
Step 1:Prepare the Project Report
Prepare a detailed project report; note that beyond a threshold cost a minimum education qualification applies.
Step 2:Apply on the PMEGP e-Portal
Register and submit the application online, selecting the implementing agency and preferred bank.
Step 3:Face the District Task Force
Shortlisted applicants are interviewed by the district task force committee before the file goes to the bank.
Step 4:EDP Training and Release
Complete the entrepreneurship development programme; the subsidy is then kept as a lien and adjusted after the lock-in.
