About the Scheme
The West Bengal Student Credit Card provides an education loan of up to ā¹10 lakh at 4 per cent simple interest, with the State Government standing as guarantor so no collateral is required from the family. It covers study from Class X onwards, including higher secondary, graduation, post-graduation, professional and technical courses, and coaching for competitive examinations, in India or abroad. š How to Apply
Step 1:Register on the Portal
Register on the Student Credit Card portal with the student and co-borrower details.
Step 2:Upload Course and Cost Details
Enter the institution, course and the total cost, and upload the admission and academic documents.
Step 3:Institution Verification
The institution verifies the application and forwards it to the Higher Education Department and the bank.
Step 4:Bank Sanction and Disbursal
The bank sanctions the loan; tuition is paid to the institution and other costs to the student account.
