About the Scheme
Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana is a small savings scheme under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative. A guardian may open an account for a girl child before she turns 10, at any post office or authorised bank. Deposits are made for 15 years and the account matures 21 years from opening. Partial withdrawal is permitted for higher education after the girl turns 18. 🚀 How to Apply
Step 1:Visit a Post Office or Bank
Approach any post office or authorised bank branch offering the Sukanya Samriddhi account.
Step 2:Submit the Account Opening Form
Fill Form SSA-1 and attach the girl child’s birth certificate along with the guardian’s identity and address proof.
Step 3:Make the Initial Deposit
Deposit the minimum opening amount. Further deposits may be made in instalments up to the annual ceiling.
Step 4:Maintain the Account
Deposit at least the minimum amount each financial year for 15 years to keep the account active until maturity.
